Alright this is only a quick video but it is really important manage, really quick to fix. It is all about Permalinks. And you might ask what are Permalinks? Basically every page or post you make on your blog will have basically link go in to it. So for example up here we’re actually obviously on the WordPress admin even so everything has a link. So if we were to copy that link there and paste it to another browser then this page will show up.
Now, the problem with WordPress, if you just go down to Permanlinks section, go down to settings and click on Permanlinks—the problem is that, I don’t know why but WordPress setup their page structures with the Default setting. So in this example, lovedriving.com and you know the first page you create would be one for example. Now, from search engine points of view, when Google come along and kind a look at this page link, it doesn’t actually May 9 on this page here. You know if it said something like push turbo or something about the article or page that has been written, then it just adds a bit more weight to Google. And we need to change it away from this system and we need to make it so that after your name—domain name the description is very clearly about what is your post about.
So there are a few more options here quite a lot of people set it to date and name. Before you’ll post, description will actually give you the date. Some people just leave it to month and year and then post name. The best way of doing it is just click on Custom Structure and just put in post name. Now this is the way to do that. Let us go back to Default.
Just click on day and name and then click in between the percent sign and the forward slash of the day, highlight that, delete it and then that is all we need. And then basically save changes. That is basically it.
What will happen now is each post you create and I will show you my blog, this post is about the new Maserati which will be launched the Quatrroperte Sport GT S Now, you can see over here, a clearly describe exactly what my post is about. And that just makes it easy for Google and it makes more likely you’ll get visitors to that post from Google. That’s it.
