You have created a presentation portfolio on www.taskstream.com. We would like to link this to the EKU site so that others may see it. In order to do that you need to be logged on to an EKU computer on campus, logged on under your name. The first thing that you need to do is double click my computer and double click on W drive. Sometimes if you look at this bar you will not see your name but you will see users. If you see the word users you're going to need to put in your username so that the EKU server can find your personal W drive. In the address line you see W:/. After that you're going to type in your username and click enter.
When you do that you should be at this point directed to your W drive space. Once in your W drive if you have ever started an ePortfolio and you are updating to the task stream portfolio you almost likely see a folder called ePortfolio. We do not want to delete this file because it has files inside it that you may need to transfer to task stream. We do however need to rename it, right click, rename and add a one to the end. Remember if you have never started any portfolio at EKU you will not see any portfolio folder. But you will join us at this point in going back to the L drive double clicking, going to the COE folder, put your cursor on the folder called ePortfolio, right click and copy.
Go back twice, double click on the W drive and anywhere on the white space right click and paste. Double click on the ePortfolio folder. There will be a folder of default files. You will never need to do anything with that folder. This is your default file that we will put on the EKU server and link your presentation portfolio. To open and work on it right click, and open with Word. If you were to simply double click on that file you would be opening it in Internet Explorer and you would not be able to make changes in it. So always remember to go to your W drive right click and open it with Word.
This is our default page template and we have invited a student called John D. Smith. You’re going to change this to your default page. Please leave all fonts and color schemes the same. You will be able to show your personality in your presentation portfolio. You are changing John D. Smith’s name at the top to your name. You are changing John D. Smith’s picture to your picture or clip on. You are changing John D. Smith’s quote about teaching, learning or education to one of your own. If you go to Google and search education quotes you’ll come up with many that you could choose to use. I'm going to look up one for Albert Einstein. Again keep the font consistent, change John’s email address to yours.
Change John D’s major to yours and the last thing that we have to do is to highlight the word “Welcome” and create a hyperlink that will lead to your presentation portfolio. Go to TaskStream.com, go to your presentation portfolio, and click on View Published Web Address. If you get an error message, you can give the EKU site permission to see this web address follow those directions. You were going to right click and copy, and say okay. Go back to your default page, highlight welcome, right click and edit hyperlink and replace that address with yours. Save what you’ve done by hitting the blue floppy disk or by hitting save and close. You always say, yes to the changes that you’ve made.
You can close task stream and close your ePortfolio folder. Go to the EKU COE College of Education page, click student resources, search student ePortfolios and please click here to add your ePortfolio web link. Use title, capitalization, put in your last name, your first name and your blackboard username and hit submit.
Go back to COE click student resources, search student ePortfolios and then you can search by your name. I'm going to put in Ben Cook a student here. You put in your name. When you click here you will see your default page and it should have as much in it as you have changed. You can go back and change the rest of it later and when you click welcome it should go to your presentation portfolio, congratulations.
