Hello everybody my name is Shaun A.K.A the Silver Fox and today I’m going to go through an outline some of my extricate I have. This is a through a request site how on YouTube and he wants to learn about the stuff I’m using in the winter months. As I said I do favor use my hidden kit and I prefer it because a love the fact that I can access. Any of my stuff while as I am walking and I do it on hiking, I can access food, I can access water, I can access my knife. For at least if I am doing tracking, I can access them, everything I can access without even stopping to move my pack.
I always love the fact that my heat kit got, I am able to change it according to what I am doing. I have a variety of different pockets, various sizes that I can add on or take-off. In order to make the pack suitable for the current that I am out to do, as if it is hiking, tracking, photography, videoing, bushcrafting, camping out.
First thing what we will do, we are going to an outline three rack sacks that I own. And the first rock sack I own is this, and this is ex-army 30 litre day pack. Is a good pack, it’s the one I would probably these days if I would get an extra pack. And I will explain while I do that in a minute.
It’s a good pack, it got two large side pockets, they both got a water-proof if you see from the inside. And on the sides and on the front and underneath, you have webbing stitch. –Use elastics or proper clips and attachments pockets to the front of your hat. Another mention is the elastics bungees, you can’t believe on the lid itself, you got two pockets in the lid.
On the top and a larger one underneath, both are ideal in storing on your tops. And things like that you can pretty poncho in the top of the another if that’s what you do. And it has one very large pocket in the center is not separate or—to us in there, compartment to, I'm sorry but it’s a good pack. So it’s a 30-litre, the next pack I got is this one, this is a Euro Hike mold in this 55 litre rack sack.
This one I put it this one lightly they put extra webbing on the front and so now which added extra kick to this pack. And at the bottom in the middle and on the top, also catch kit to the very top of this pack. And it’s a really good little pack, has clips to the front for bolting or putting your trekking poles. And this is the pack I favor when I go hiking in this pack, I can have my sleeping bag, I can get my tent if I needed. I can have my food or my extra clothing, I can get inside this one pack.
All my footwear and this is the one I favor. Has this a – stretched bottom in the front, it has side pockets. It’s a really good pack, has a really good fit in on the back, it’s all padded and it keeps you cool. It has trology system which means this top part is can just be, you can slide up or down. And when it is use a sassy body, now there is a harness that I’ve found and being very short or shorter in the average. And what’s getting on the rack that actually fits me over the shoulders and around the waist. So this way it can be comfortable in my hips, that’s that pack.
And this one is the largest pack and this is a Highlander horses 66. This is a 6 litre pack and same things as the Euro Hike this one has adjustment key underneath the bottom of this webbings. In the front and on the top, it got loads of webbing again to add extra kick to the top and this one has large three large side pockets. Two on the side one in the front they both focus on the Euro Hike have pockets on the hood and this one carries trekking poles on the sides. So another really good pack, this pack also has the adjustment back system and that is the one I look for when I’m going to pack these days.
I got also greater material on the back you see I got some padding and adjustable when I fit the size on my back. That is the third pack, what I want to go through, since my last video what I’ve done something that I’ve done with my heat bag which I want to demonstrate it with you today. Since my last videos with heat pack I have made some modifications to it and a few adjustments.
And I don’t want to – let me use my rack sack, I don’t want only to give my heat pack. As I said I like the versatility of it, so what I’ve done is I modified it so now I am enabled to top all the straps away and let me just demonstrate it for you. If I zoomed in, so here’s my pack. And thought to show a strap, if I will show you a strap I can unclip this and stick it inside my pocket if I need to. On the back of my heat pack, it has two zips.
What this means is I am able to tuck the belt strap inside her. And tuck it out the way so they can seal right inside, so this way in this strapping is out of the way. But what it also means is I am enable now to – I have on the sides here, I have two female buckles. And what have I done is I got male couplings on the front of my rope sack. Which means I am enable to –I will show you now.
Maybe to carry the rack sack, so there is my rack sack on. And my heat kit, on the – you can see what I am doing. On the sides here, I have the male couplings and they just fit in to the waist strap on this rack sack. What is next that we need to do is click this tape pack by my hip clip. Come to the front of my pack, now I wouldn’t take this hip kit out in this configuration with this rack sack that it is on now.
The side pockets would be on the artic, pull them off, I would sort a kit inside them, a lot of these would go into the side pockets of my rack sack. And I’ve got everything on here for a days hike so I am no need to that. Maybe if you imagine taking the side pockets off and just rely on the center pocket but I got food, I can carry small amount of water – a liter of water. I could put the maps, I could put my water-proof poncho underneath which is a life-saver.
Because you can put it on when it rains, strap it with a whole lot. I got my kit off, my pack off it’s there. It’s all accessible for me and I can carry my knives in here if I need to, everything is on this pack. So we see this strap would be on here, so that is the next modification that I’ve done to this hip kit. I will go through there and give more a bit detail and I will explain everything what I’ve done to this pack and how I have made it.
Alright that I will show that to you but for the rest of the video, I’m just going to show to you some of the other pockets and pouches that I have.
