To setup E-mail Accounts on your iPhone, first tap Settings on the home screen. Tap the Mail, Contact to Calendar’s button and then tap Add Accounts. If the e-mail account is with Microsoft Exchange, MobileMe, Gmail, Yahoo or AOL, just tap the appropriate button on the Add account screen.
If not, tap the Other button. Enter your name, e-mail address, password and an optional description. Press Save in the upper right hand corner.
Tap the button that denotes the type of e-mail server this account uses, IMAP or POP. Enter the name for your incoming mail server such as mail.providername.com. If you need help, this information can be given to you by your internet provider or your IT Administrator at work.
Enter your username and password for the incoming server. Enter the internet host name for your outgoing mail server such as smtp.providername.com. Again, your internet provider or IT Administrator at work can provide this server info for you.
Outgoing mail servers don’t need the user name and password but it’s a good idea to fill them in anyway.
Then, click Save in the upper right hand corner. Your new account has been created. If your ISP requires a specialized settings such as the use of a secure certificate, tap the SMTP button and make the additional changes.
