Melanie Raposo: Hi everybody I'm Melanie Raposo, and welcome to the pregnancy show, you can talk about a New Year without mentioning a New Year's resolution. And normally when some one makes a new years resolution they give something up, but today we are doing things a little differently, with the help of life coach and author Judy Librach we give you moms out there some positive new years resolution you'll want to bye, bye to help you and your family have a less stressful and happy your year in 2008.
Judy Librach: You have to have the desire, if you have the desire you will take an action, so lets take weight for instance, a lot of us want to loose weight, myself included, have had we all have different ways of going about it, but I think when you really visualize the weight that you want to be and you really picture yourself act that perfect weight and don't try to be a super model because that's probably not going to happen, but you can imagine where you would be at you are absolute best self for you, and that if you can actually visualize that, that's the first stages really imagine what it would be like stepping in to those size for a jeans and a you that gorgeous new white shirt that set couple of size is smaller than what you are wearing, and that will be a very great beginning a very great spring board, and then make a plan, make it focussed make it detail, make a plan that's going to work for your so instead of saying I want loose 20 pounds, and being frustrated. This what happens to most of us, we wanted to happen in a weekend, we wanted to happen in a month, I always use the example of a pound of butter in the fridge.
A pound of butter is equal to one pound of fat, so think about it that's a lot one pig that's fat a week, is amazing , so probably why not imagine that you are losing just one pound a week, over a period of 5 months, that's durable. It took you a long time to get there in the first place, and you actually will be also achieve your goal, you just focus on loosing that pound a week. How are you going to do that? Where you are going to do that by perhaps joining a weight loss program, you are going to do that by partner in some doing with the friend is a great way to do it.
Even having a friend at some workout partner I had a workout partner for years, that I walk with and that help so much because we kind of push each other, till she pushes me more of that I push her I must in that, that's my friend Sary, but it's a great way to get started is have partner with some one, partner with your mate, do it together go for a walk even for 30 minutes a day. I have a great story about my husband, who told a patient to his you don't have to do a big 2 hour workout or big marathon, it could literally be 30 minutes a day, 6-7 times a week, and there is person did it ended up loosing 30 pounds, and it what wasn't a big sort of intense work out plan it was very moderate but it was very consistent.
And tracking write at down to make it happen, I believe in that so much when you write it down or share it with somebody you actually make it happen and set it actual a day, l want to lose this weight I made the first, that gives me 5 months January to May at one pound a week.
