Accessing the manual focus is really very, very simple. You have your focusing dial right up here and you have AFS, which means auto-focus single shut, which is pressing the shutter button halfway, the camera locking a focus and keeping it there. AFC, which is auto-focus continues, which means pressing the shutter button halfway, the camera locks focus but if the subject moves, it continues to focus on that subject.
And then you have manual focus, which means you have to use the focusing ring up here to adjust the focus in the back. And as soon as you turn the focusing ring, you'll notice that the image magnifies which allows me to see the subject a lot clearer and I an even magnify it one step further by the using the dial up in the front. As you can see down here, it's a size, that’s a little icon of the dial. Here is the dial up front, I can use this to pull it to the right and magnify even more. So now, with the picture magnified, I can turn the manual focus ring and be able to tell whether the picture is in focus or not.
After a while of not touching the manual focus ring, the picture will just pop back to its regular view or I can press the menu set button to cancel. So if my image is magnified and I press the menu set button, it’ll pop back to the normal view as well.
