Hi everyone, this is Bill Fordon today I’m going to show you how what happens when you get time zone buddy for the first time. You’re actually given what I call a giver and when you rest it, it’s a little round guy, he’s going to ask you what language you want in the instructions in, English, French or another one Dutch. So we’re going to go ahead and pick English for English instructions. And when we do that just tell you it’s going to rest it doesn’t take very long you should get it. There it is just a few moments if you do not get it make sure you’re not in a script restricted zone. Keep this and what were going to do now go ahead and retrieve it and I’ll be with you in just a moment.
Okay our time zone buddy is now in memory, we’ve got our had but you can see here okay that’s the time zone buddy had. We also have down here, we’ve got a capsule that’s the data capsule is just the master copy and that is where we keep our permanent settings but we don’t want or we don’t ever change much in we keep our buddy list here, all our buddy is at for we want to keep track of the real life time. There is hope file on this there’s also a video it shows you exactly how to do this. So we can watch that to see how to change your settings. So we’re going to go back up here and to launch our time zone buddy had we going to wear it. It’s kind of creation if you line languages and it’s going to ask you what language you want to communicate in English for French or for Dutch or Netherlands or language.
So we’re going to take English and it’s going to come up it’s going to give us a choice between doing a easy set up and or just cancel out of this and instead we would do a an update using the data capsule. So we’re going to choose the easy set up. That’s asking the date of our local time, of your date of our GMT time is 20th of July, 3:31AM so for me, for this demonstration I am in Moscow Russia, it’s 7:27 in the morning or 7:31 I should say. So I’m much later than GMT so I’m going to pick number three being in Moscow. Okay now it ask me the dates and number two, today is the 20th here in Moscow. So I’m going to pick number two. Is it still morning? Yes, it’s 7AM goodness so we say yes we come down here and find 0700, 7Am and we click on that, and now it’s asking us what your local time is closest to. Okay, and I apologize for the crooked looking letters it’s second life not like in the size the user interface on using.
So anyway it’s number two, 7:32AM is the closest I’m might be a couple minutes different because my computer clock might be off or one looking at a wall clock each one that you’ll see it matches the minutes with the second life usually unless you’re one the countries at don’t adjust by the full hour but at part of an hour, so we’re going to pick number two. Are you in the US or Canada? No we are not, we are in Moscow. Do you observe light saving time same as you are in Canada? Again that is a no. Are you currently observing a daily savings? Yes, right now it is summer in Moscow beautiful weather, so we’re observing daylight savings time.
Okay with long with most of the Northern Hemisphere. Now that is asking how many minutes of adjustment for day light savings. One hour, two hours, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes some countries uses other times most of us use one hour and that’s when I ‘m going to click that’s where we use here in Moscow. So I’m going to click one hour and if I bring up my--come I just move this over here for you. Okay it’s found determine that our standard time zone description for Moscow is plus three hours, this is true. Even now we’re in daylight savings we’re not talking about day light hours for talking standard time when it’s winter. And our day light savings parameters set to Y as in yes equals 60 minutes. So that is real simple thing to remember and make a note of this, this is what you will put in your data recorder to permanently save your parameters instead of having to go through the easy setup every time.
If you decide to do that, if you got buddies and stuff like that you want to change som
