Sewing on seam binding
Okay, now I am going to cut binding for my sleeves. Measures 18inches, I will do a little bit 18 in quarter so I will have a little bit extra to fold over the edges.
Fold your seam binding not exactly in a half: let 1/16th of an inch overlap the edge.
Then I am going to press the binding lengthwise. Not exactly in the center, letting the edge extend about 1/16th of an inch kind of a little hard for you to see, but 1/16th of an inch over the edge. Okay, now we are actually going to sew. You got thread, thread at my machine, bobbin is threaded. You need tutorials on this, in my tutorial channel and on that blog you have got video tutorials on how to thread your machine, how to thread your button, how to load your button.
Insert the edge of your garment into the fold of the seam binding. Sew down the middle of your seam binding.
Now what you are going to do is lift the folded edge of binding over the edge of the sleeve that is your salvage with the widest edge of the binding underneath.
Here is how your sewn on seam binding looks.
