Hi this is James with Understand Your Mac and for this tutorial we’re going to talk about how you can share the URL or the address of a podcast or an album or an up in the up store in iTunes.
And so I’m sure like me there has been a lot of times where you found something you want to share with somebody in iTunes while you’re surfing around in the store and you couldn’t figure out how to do it. So this is where we’re going to learn how.
Now I’m going to go find a podcast called Macbreak Weekly, and Macbreak Weekly is a podcast that features a guy that lives in the town right next to me. I’m in a little town called Katadi and Leo Laport is over in Peluma where I happen to work our everyday and that’s one of my favorite podcast, so let’s say I want to share this with a friend, I can either right Click depending on what kind of mouse or what kind of Mac I have right now. I did a right could click on the icon right here or I could control click which is I’m going to do and it brings up this contextual menu says copy Itunes store URL so I click on that, and then I’m just going to bring up mail real quick and we’ll do command then for new message and I‘m going to populate all these information off screen for you.
Okay, so you see I entered that information and what I’m going to do is I could use Do command V on my keyboard or add it and choose paste, and this puts the address for the iTunes store that iTunes page to Mcbreak Weekly right in the body of my email. So let’s take a moment and look at what your friends will see when they received that URL and they click on it. I’m going to quit out of itunes so we get the full effect and bring up Safari here and let’s add a new tab. I’m going to do edit paste and put that address in and hit the return key in Safari, and you can see it’s a launching iTunes for us, and it goes right to that page.
So just using this simple method you can share a podcast. You can share an album. You can share an up from the up store whatever you want it’s on the iTunes store with all your friends.
