The other day, coming hooked to the shop someone hand me a scissor and said, “Sir, would you mind sharpening those when you are out there.”
Well, rather than getting the bench sander, I thought I would do it the easy way, and that is cutting sand paper because my sanding block for drywall required a new paper cut anyway and if you cut paper before you know it is 1/3 of the sheet that is required for the drywall sander.
So, that simply flip it over on the backside, draw it yourself three lines. That is where you are going to be cutting the paper. Always have the rough side down and nice long scissor strokes and cut the paper. And you can feel it sharpening the scissors as your cutting the sand paper putting an edge.
Now, if you want to really make it a fine edge then I have some 400 grit paper that requires the trimming here as well so I trimmed that and all you can feel that so sharp. And then just to show you how sharp it is I have apiece of vinyl here and a piece of vinyl is very easy to cut now giving a beautiful edge.
There you have it. It is just that easy.
