I’m trying to drill another hole into this hinge but I’m working on the door drill bit. Now it’s going to take me a lot longer plus it’s putting unnecessary wear on the drill. You don’t have a lot of options with door drill bits. You can ran right out and try to replace them which could end up being time consuming and costly or I can show you how to fix them right in your workshop.
What, I am talking about is the drill doctor and this is going to allow you to keep sharp drill bits in your workshop all the time. Now there’s just a few simple steps in working the drill doctor and the first one is to determine the angle of your drill bit which you would do right here on the side.
Once you determine that, you need to find out what type of drill bit you have. The drill doctor will sharpen masonry, split point and standard point bits. The next step is to check the bit and we are going to put this into the alignment tube, which is here, and were actually going to let the drill doctor determine how much of the drill bit needs to be sharpened.
Now insert the check knob into the sharpening tube and turn in clockwise using even pressure turn it half rotation turn it in half rotations at least 10 to 20 times. Well that looks sharp to me, so let’s see how it works. The drill doctor comes in several different models they range in price anywhere $50.00 up to around $200.00. Well I can see that the sharpened bit is working a lot better. If you would like more information on the drill doctor, go to DrillDoctor.com.
