Some people keep goats for many different reasons. Some keep them for meat and some keep them for dairy. I keep my goats for their fiber.
These goats are special goats. They are Pygora goats. Pygoras were bred for the first time in the United States in the 1980s. What they are is a combination of the Pygmy goat and Angora goat.
What you get is a smaller goat that can give you Cashmere type fiber that you can spin into luxurious wool.
A few weeks ago, I have my friend Sam who has raised goats for 10 years. Come over and help me sheer them, take a look.
Exciting!
I am just so excited because I think this is really cool even though it does look kind of grouse and I am picking out duty out of her nails.
I grew up on the East River.
Exactly!
(Sheering Sound)
See we are not showing you so, it is okay.
Look! Truly handspun!
(Laughing)
Duty time.
That sure was a lot of time and I can not wait to start spinning.
