This drill is going to work on shooting. It is called Shooting Over Goal, Into Goal. This drill is going to work on snapping your top hand when you shoot like a baseball player in Baseball with the follow-through. And also going to work on the bottom hand pulling to gain velocity.
The drill is, we have one goal about 10-15 yards in front of another goal. We are going to focus on hitting three spots at this drill. The first spot is going to be the Cross Bar, the second spot is going to be Off-hip on either side of the goal, and the third spot is going to be the Cone which represents the front of the crease.
I am going to stand here as the Coach and toss Kyle some balls. He is going to catch them, and just shoot over top of one goal into the other. This cone here is about where he wants to stand, so he doesn’t hit his stick on the first goal.
First the Cross Bar, second is Off-hip, and third we are going to try and hit the Cone.
When doing this drill you do not want to jump, you want to work on extending your arms to get over top of the first goal and get the ball into the second goal.
