Mike Interviews Rajo Zakic, the 1734th Handsomest Man in Toronto
Vanessa’s Interview Tip # 1
Don’t been interview do this. Tip number one, do your homework. Conducting an interview with no background is not only rude but it’s stupid. You should know who you’re talking too and maybe if you have film the map into a pre-interview before you do the real thing.
Vanessa’s Interview Tip # 2
When you step up to the place some correct, don’t try to wing it. You should have your questions written out on a paper. You need to respect your subject by being prepared you’d not only get better responses but your not where you at and what you need to get. Also, you should always come with extra stock because your never know when someone might confess to being a murderer.
Vanessa’s Interview Tip # 3
Think like a journalist, questions that be easily answer with yes or no. Don’t make for great cinema. Your looking for standalone clips, think about how you can get you’re subject to talk naturally. But not to be afraid to direct them, you could start with a few softball questions and meet you’re way up to the juicer ones. One big trick is to say and then what happen or what happen next like on January 5th you receive the phone call telling you that you are the 1734th Handsomest Man in Toronto and then what happens?
Vanessa’s Interview Tip # 4
Tip number four, don’t forget to get your subject to speak to you and not to the lens. Unless your are going for look but extremely awkward or more have a plan at a very special machine when he did this, you don’t. So stick with the subject looking at you and make sure that you sit to this to and just off side of the camera. The camera can and shoot move, just not in an obvious or destructing way. Don’t walk the camera off, you’ll regret it. Oh, and Mike can you please pick up some presents that’s in your way home.
