Male: Unfortunately, most Americans are not as well as they could be today, impart because they are eating bad foods. Going to the average persons covered and look many highly processed products you find there. People are not even shopping the way they want instead, they like to go to a mall or supermarket, load up everything that they can get, generally stuff that will last a while and take it home. Wherein more traditional cultures, people eat on a, let us say a daily basis what they have collected that day or harvest that day, even in countries like France and Italy, you do not see refrigerators with tremendous amounts of food, they will go and get what they need for a day or two, they like things fresh.
So I am going to take you A to Z through everything that you need to know to learn how to have a healthy lifestyle. Now, let us see you are a single person and you are living in a big city, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco in New York. How often you eat out? Probably more than what you eat in. And, when you do eat in, do you really sit down and have a gourmet meal? Most of you probably do not.
Now, even if your family member. Do you have finicky children? Do you kind of say, “Okay, I throw up my hands and give them the kind unhealthy foods that they are really should be having and then they end up with allergies and chemicals sensitivities or are they are overweight,” we have 96 million Americans chronically overweight. We have million suffering from heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, a lot of that can be prevented, or if you should have it improved in consuming the right food.
So, I am interested in getting you back into the kitchen. Now, when you watch many of the shows, currently offering cooking advice on television, they will take you from the kitchen to the hospital emergency room because they are about the most unhealthy shows I have ever seen. First, the people are unhealthy they are all hyper. And then secondly, they are feeding you pork sausages, and sugar and creams, the very things, that we want to get away from. And most people are not to be preparing that anyhow because there is too much details. I am going to try to keep things simple.
So, we are going to make it simple. We are going to show you how to even use the utensils. If you do not have the right equipment in your kitchen, you are not going to try anything. So, we are going to show you what we have to do stuck a larger. And, I am going to take you A to Z to herbs and spices, to give you different recipes and get ready to write off this down, you got have a lot of recipes and even if you have finicky children, I will show you how to make healthy substitutes.
The person helping me, that is my daughter Shelly. She grows up learning how to do healthy vegetarian gourmet cooking. So, within a very short period of time, I would hope that you will not only be selecting better foods, healthier foods, but learning the joy of preparing them and then taking your time to sit down in a proper ambience to enjoy and eat them.
Male: It is one thing to know, you should eating more fruits and vegetables, it is something else to know which fruits and vegetables and most importantly, what are they good for?
Well, according to the National Cancer Institute, the American Dietetic Association and the National Heart Association, we are not eating enough fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables provide us with phytochemicals. Now, the phytochemicals are rich nutrients that help protect us if we have got any damage from let us say, pesticides or low level radiation or x rays or chemicals, they help us.
Now, let me just show what I would choose if I were you the next time you are going to supermarket, mind you. You are not going to eat this if you do not buy it, and if you do not know what it is and what it does, you will not buy it. So, I am going to help you.
