Stefan: This is a new video tutorial by mymodmachine.com here on your favorite television channel or whatever, you call these kinds of websites, you can have a look on our videos. So today, we are going to show you how to sleeve a fan cable. This is pretty easy, it's the first of the series on sleeving. We bring you our own video tutorial of that. So, first of all, let's show you all the colors that are possible on sleeving to that.
When you look, hey, you got all kinds of colors from -- to sleeve, so from white to blue, to orange, yellow, green, any color that's possible. Let's get out over. So, today we are going to sleeve this fan, this means we are going to sleeve this cable. What you need is some tool and this is special ModMyMachine ATX sleeving tool, pin remover and these are exclusively sold at Caseking.de at the moment. This is in fact for ATX, but doesn't matter. So, what you need to do, you can also use the needle or anything else you have with you, you can also take some screwdriver, a tiny one.
So, what you need to do is push the pins inside and then get the cable out as easy as that. So, I try to show to you closer, too much of zoom, there we go. See, here you go, push it and then pull it out. There we go. After that, make sure to get the - I don't know the word for it, sorry for this guys, but you need to get the pin, a little bit back, so later on, it can stay in. Take the sleeving. When it's delivered from a good sell-out -- you get it like that. So, you got those melted together because it's kept with a hot scissor.
So, first of all, take that end off, because you need to have it like that, so you can easily push it in over the cables. So, let's go for it. Push them over, there you go. Just squeeze it, take it, release it. Squeeze it, roll it, and release it, hands on. The end is not looking that good, so cut this off. Just cut them off and keep it a little bit more.
So, just like that, some space for the heat-shrink tubing. Back to the other side, just cut it at the end. Here is the cable. Now put the heat-shrink tubing over the sleeve; one and two. Now, cut it down, so you can see the connectors. So, normally I would recommend a heat gun but right now, I am going to show you how you can do it with the stuff you have on at home, so we just use a lighter instead. Before we do that, put this one back on. Always remember how the connectors should be inside, there we are. So, again in this case it's black, red, then the yellow. There we go. It's not easy, looking in the camera and showing you at the same time what to do. I need a cameraman for that matter. There we go. And the last one, there we are.
So right now, we can take the lighter; just push it up to the end. Like I said, normally I would use a heat gun, but I don't have here. I just want to show you how to do with a lighter, just go gently over it so that it doesn't get burned. See, it gets a bit dark on the sides, but that's it. Here we go. I'll just light, there we are. So the last thing to do is, add some more heat-shrink tubing over the connector if you like to, a bit bigger one. As you can see, we don't have a white connector anymore.
I also recommend every time use the same length of heat-shrink tubing, every time, so, I take 20 mm. You can use any size you want, but keep it the same size every time. So, as you can see, that's it. So that's the final thing you want to have. You can do that in any color you like. Take a look here, blue, orange with white, a black and yellow, clear on a green one and green on the blue one.
