How to Socialize Your Dog

Is your canine a good citizen? Well, that's a good topic. So many dogs are not. Dogs can be very unruly, as you know, they really respond well to short instructions. If a dog is a barker, you have to tell them, no bark, no bark, with the tone of voice that they understand that you are unhappy. They have to know what is expected of them. When you go out for a walk with your dogs, bring a little plastic bag, save yourself a lot of headache and your neighbor's as well because there is nothing worse than a dog that does his duty everywhere else but in his own yard which is very typical of dogs.

Of course, you want to have your dogs on leashes at all times unless, of course, you are in an area like a dog run where it's allowable for them to have free range and you want to have them licensed every year; it's very important and keep up their vaccinations. You've got to make sure that they are safe to be around other people and be sure that they are friendly with children. If they are not, you have got to make a very important effort to not have them around kids alone ever. It's kind of a scary thing when a dog snaps at a kid because it can really be dangerous; the kid will be mad for life as well and afraid of dogs. So you want to try to socialize your dog as quickly as possible when they are young and you want to make sure that your instructions are clear and that you also are a good citizen and bring that little doggy bag with you.
