Okay. I am going to help you get your computer—hopefully up here a little bit faster. So go ahead and start it out by going to the Start Menu and then you can either hit Run which I don’t appear to have or hit the Flag key on the keyboard and then R at the same time. Then type in msconfig; ms configure, configuration then hit okay.
You are going to see this System Configuration Window up here. Up here, go over to the Startup tab. In the Startup tab, you are going to see all the programs that start up when you turn on the computer. So to make your computer turn on a bit faster, I would go around and uncheck things you do not need.
When you are done with that, go up to the Boot tab at the top, go ahead and click that and then Advanced Options, select the number of processors box and maximum memory. You do not have to do anything with maximum memory after you check that box.
For number if the processors, go ahead and select the highest number; for me it’s two because I have a Dual Core. If you are lucky enough to have a Quad Core, go ahead and select four, then hit OK.
While you have gone there, you can go ahead and hit OK and then you may restart or hitting shutdown. Another thing that make your computer a bit faster here is go to Start and then right hand click on Computer, Properties, go and click on Windows Experience Index and then Advanced tools so go to the left.
You see here Performance issues. Performance can mean improved by changing visual setting, view details. I just have one and I have always had this one. I am not really sure what. You might have more than Performance issue. Anyhow, go ahead and click that. Lookup the Window Remove from list for all of these, go ahead and close that Window, close that one; then reboot and hopefully you computer should be faster.
Thanks for watching.
