Ann: I’m Ann from Herman, Maine. And my question is; my husband is always out with his friends at night and on weekends. How can I get him to spend more time with me without feeling like I’m—him.

Robin Kerner: Ann, I hear that question a lot from my patients and unfortunately, they do not really like the answer. The answer is; spend less time with him. Go out, go out with your friends and get involved with interconnected activities. Because then when he spends time with you, you’ll be much more attractive and interesting to him. But then again if you are not spending any time with your husband on nights and on weekends, there might be something you want to talk to him about in terms of your expectations about the relationship if you and your husband are in really different places; that’s something you might need to address.
