Hello, I’m Steven Phillips host of Great Cocktails.
Modern mixologist and bar chefs all around the country are breaking barriers with their liquid culinary creations. Now we’re going to give you some easy ideas for spicing up your cocktail menu.
At these days only one thing more interesting than what’s going on in the glass is what’s hanging out on the outer rim. The rims are an easy way to use exotic spices and flavor combinations that will make your cocktails unforgettable.
From lightly sweet and fruity cocktails try the Indian sugar rim. It’s made by mixing sugar and ground cardamom now this sweet and punching spices one of the main flavors in chai tea and pairs very well with citrus.
The Mediterranean market rim combines lemon zest and ground basil, salt and sugar and it goes great with margaritas, mojitos and pineapple rum drinks.
Now this one is my favorite it’s the desert sand rim it brings together all the spices and flavors of Mexico, yet sugar, salt, a little dried lemon zest, come cinnamon and kayan pepper makes for an ideal tequila drink and especially a tequila sunrise.
The ranging pageant rim is a salute to the Bloody Mary it combines salt, lemon pepper, sea salt and kayan pepper for a delicious fire treat.
First rule of rims you’re ingredients much be dry.
Second rule there are no more rules. Let your sugar and your salt work together add your flavors to taste and have a great time. This tasty rim will turn an ordinary drink into a great cocktail.
