Aleck Hamburd age 13 known as iDrummer in the chat room says he starts out the email, this top five lists to create notice for your band. He says he was doing guggling. I do not exactly know what that means other than he has been doing research and/or quite possibly handle his iDrummer, he is in a band. So they started young.
Number one, people. First, you are going to need to know some people who are into your music and the type of music you wish to create, the ways you can find people are to look around your school, work, programs, et cetera and just start a friendly conversation. Usually, this takes some time to find and like people because there are so many different people but you are going to have to wait for a little bit. And look, when you get around to the band part, mention that you are looking to start a band and if you are interested to know if he or she would like to join. If the reply is no, ask him or if he knows anyone that is musically talented more than likely 13 years old, he will know few people if he plays an instrument. The more people you have, the more they will take you seriously because they see that you have spent the time getting people together and being organized about it, and I think by they, your intended audience. If you get desired amount of people, make sure everyone is okay with their band members so there is no dispute between one another. Then and you are settled in with one another, you can come up with a name, this may be hard but if you are doing this for a living, make sure you think extra since you probably will have to live with it if you want to stay noticed. It is a very fresh perspective—the eyes of a child are shining through ideally, that is how it would happen in fact. I think I am no longer 13 years old obviously or maybe not so obviously. At some point in our childhood, have we all either started a band or talked about starting a band with friends even though none of us were really talented as it were.
Step number two, recording and/or covers. Most artists out there start by doing cover songs. Those were songs written by other artists and then you are playing back with your own style. You could go right into your recording but it is good to know your band’s weaknesses and strengths in music. Start out with a couple of simple songs. Once you get the hang out, however on placed then go for the hard songs and start recording. Recording is a major deal. These words are not mine. There are many ways to record. If you have some extra cash like around $2,000.00, then you can buy an OKAY set of recording equipment. Best chance you have is to get good recording in equipment. Just walk into a store and look for bargains. There is one in just about every major city, they have tons of everything in there that is humanly possible for the music unless you played cello. I do not know why he is singling out the cello people then maybe there is not a lot of cello bands out there. But otherwise, most people cannot afford that. You can save money in the long run if you can, it can be professionally done. It is usually quite cheap, but before picking a recording place, do a little research on them. They may be really cheap but they may have bad quality recording equipment. Also, they sometimes do not supply you the instruments which means you have to hold your amped guitars, drums, bases, chords et cetera. They do sometimes but it seems different that might thrill off your groove if you are using equipment you are not familiar with. There is also two ways to record. There is two-track or four-track. Four-tracks tends to come out better with better quality since you record an instrument at a time, but two-track is faster and easy to do. In two-track, you record the band then the singer. Two-track is cheaper but lower quality or at least you are not going to have as much opportunity to tweak each particular part of the final product as you are building it up in production. But to tell you the truth and I think a lot of bands were going this way, do it at home. The tools are right there in front of you for any operating system really, get a good microphone and mix at home, why would you not, let us hope that does not happen with your music. I think the lag is happening with the live video feed. Thank goodness it is recorded now, well at least the time that I am recording it. So anyway, you may not even have to look very far or much passed the own computers that you or maybe the members of your band have or maybe that is something you can go back to you. Find the geekiest person in your area and with the best hardware that you know of and then have them be the band water boy or girl and then you could use their equipment.
