How to Stay Connected to Your Friends in a Relationship

Host: How can I stay connected to friends and handle work responsibilities and a new relationship?
Toni Coleman: I think the key thing there is to think about doing the little things. It's the email to the friend that checking in to say, “Hi, how are you? I am thinking about you.” Maybe sending a funny e-card or even a real card through the mail to remember something to acknowledge a birthday and anniversary, some special day for your friend.
It's taking the time out maybe to get together for coffee. It doesn't take a lot of time. You can do that after work. Perhaps arranging for lunch with somebody especially if your schedules work out so that if you are not usually in the same location or a nearby location if you are, what a great thing. Let's get together for lunch. So it's all those little things. Those little ways of checking in, letting somebody knowing you are thinking about them and setting aside sometime. If you are well organized you can do this set aside time that your significant other is going to be doing other things. What a great time to have people over or to get together with your friends and go out and do something fun.
