Hi there! This is if you have a problem that when you are shutting down, you might see another box like this from Yahoo Messenger and you’re having to click the End Now button. Now there is an option in the registry edit where it could change this sort of where it just closes this down to normally.
Okay so you see this problem. Now, this is how you can fix it. I’m using Windows XP here. Go into start, select the run. I’ve already got it in here. I still got to type in regedit that will allow us to start edit in the registry. Click OK. When you're fast going, you’ll probably see a menu like this. And the one we want to be finding is HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Click on the plus sign over here, go down, find control panel. Click on the plus sign again, go down and find desktop, just click on that so that is highlighted there and that’ll open up some options here.
The one we want to be finding is the Auto End tasks. So, left click on that, right click on it and it goes small submenu up, select the modify option. Make sure this is the right value we changed in auto end tasks up here. Change your value data to one which is two, click OK and basically we can close after that. Now, when you go to shut down, this time you should probably still see the error message so you left it paused and then shut down.
The next time you reboot, it’ll have the modified option in it. So the time after that, that you shut down, you should no longer see this Windows Messenger have a message.
I hope that’s helped you out. If you want anymore computer tips, just check out acomputerportal.com.
