Hey, there. Shane here at Photoshopzoo.com from the headquarters, I just want to give you a another video on how to strike your photos in the photo CS4. The very similar to doing it in the other versions, we used the ruler tool and so forth but I’m going to add now a little twist to it and show you how to trim and crop your image at the end. So, it's absolutely perfect and you’re not getting rid of additional parts of your image that you need to say goodbye to.
So the first thing we’re going to do those actually duplicate this image. So come up to the image menu, there we go. Image menu and duplicate and I’m just going to call this, Tin Can Bay because that’s where this photo is taken, Tin Can Bay Queensland, Australia. If you ever get a chance, go there. It's a beautiful spot.
Okay, now I’m going to choose the ruler and that under the art drop tool and it's the third tool down and all we need to do with the ruler is actually click and drag and select a nice straight line on that image. And I’m going to let go now and now we come up to rotate that image. So, image rotation and we select arbitrary. Just click on that and it tells us how many degrees that we need to rotate this image for the ruler that we’ve just drew for that to be horizontal to be absolutely, perfectly horizontal. Click on okay and you can see it's rotated my image now and this should be pretty well spot on horizontal and there it is.
So now, we really just need to crop out image and to do that, I’m going to come up to the image menu and then select canvass size and what I’m going to do here, make sure you’ve got relative checked come up to the window menu now and I’m going to scroll down to the original image, okay. Oh, sorry—I’ll check relative now after you’ve done that and it's telling me that minus 22 pixels and minus 33, all we need to do is double this and that’ll get rid off exactly what we need to make it spot on.
So, we’ve got minus 44 pixels in and minus 66 pixels. We’re going to trim that off and lets have a good look at our image now by clicking okay and it's going to say—ask us if we want to proceed to crop and click the image and viola, there we have it. This is our final image looking absolutely beautiful and straight. So that’s how you do it in PhotoShop CS4, how you can straighten up your images and trim off only the bits you don’t want.
