Welcome to tinkernut.com video cast. In this video, I will show you two excellent ways to watch TV and movies on your computer.
The first program we will use, is called JOOST, it is from the makers of Skype and Kazaa and extremes televisions and movies directly from the internet to your computer. The second program, we will be using, is called MIRO, it is formerly known as democracy player and with that, you can schedule your favorite TV shows to automatically be downloaded each time a new windows is available. So let us get started.
To begin, open up a new web browser and direct it to www.joost.com/presents/techcrunch and the reason we were going to this webpage is because JOOST is still in its beta form and you can only download and install it if you have an invitation. So this will take you to the invitation page and what you need to do here is just fill out all the appropriate information and the security codes and then click the invite me button. This will send you an email with an invitation. The next step you need to take is to check your email and click the link that is inside of it and this will take you to a page: the download page, that will looks like this so just click download now and then follow the steps, click download now again and this should start to download the setup installer so just click save file and whenever it is through, either click open or find wherever you downloaded it to and double-click on it. This will actually run the setup program and you can see it extracting and this is the terms and agreement so if you agree, click yes and then click next. This will start to install the program. So whenever it is through installing, you can just go ahead and close out of everything and double-click the icon that at least on the desktop and this will actually start the JOOST application. As you can see here, you have the different channels on this in terms and things like that, you can change the different channels. This is a music channel like here and you can see this little remote that I am clicking at the bottom of the screen. You can also change channels from there, it also gives you the ability to pause it or rewind it or skip to the next link. See, here is the pause ability and then you can just click play to resume it and then you can also just click skip to skip to the next video. So it is a pretty neat little program, it streams all these directly from the internet and whenever you are through, you can just close out.
For the next program, open up a new web browser and once it opens, direct it to www.getmiro.com and this will take you to the MIRO page so that we can actually download the program. Once the page loads, click on the download tab, this will take us to the download page. You can see that it is not only available for Windows but also for Linux and Macintosh operating systems. Since I am running Windows, I am going to click the Windows file to download. So when it is ready to download, I am just going to click run so that whenever it is through downloading, it will automatically start the setup. You can see that the file size is 22.3MB so it may take a little while to download but whenever it is through, just click run. For the language, select your language and then click ok, then next, then I agree, next, next and then install. As several for this program whether large so it may take a little while to install. This part probably takes about three to four minutes if not longer so if you got something else to do at this point, you can go ahead and do it but whenever it is through, you should see a page that looks like this. Just leave the run MIRO box checked and click finish.
While MIRO is loading, go back to your web browser and direct it to www.tvrss.net, what this website is? It has a list of different TV shows and their episodes and these are all important files which are the file type that the MIRO player can actually download and read. For my episode, I am going to choose house and then this will bring up all the house episodes that are on file. I do not know if you can see or not but some of these episodes have duplicates so to get rid of the duplicates, we want to select a single provider so you can just select the single provider from the drop down box but search again and it should have just one version of each episode. So if you are satisfied with that, go to the RSS link, right click on it and copy it and then open up the MIRO program and go to add channel and paste the link into the dialogue box and then click ok. As you can see, it is already downloading or starting to download the most recent episode. You can also change the channel name to be more descriptive so I am just going to call mine House. It may take a little while to actually download the torrent files because torrents take quite awhile to actually download then you can also see as I just did at the bottom here that you can search YouTube videos and also download them so for example, I just downloaded my tinkernut video series and download them.
