In this episode, I am going to show you how you can easily stream MP3 using JukeFly.com, Orb.com or Anywhere.fm.
First one, we were going to look at is a website called JukeFly.com. So if you go there, what this website does is it puts a little server application on your computer and allows you to stream it. Stream your music through the internet. Now, you can only do this so long as your computer is on because that little application has to be running. So if you leave your computer on then you can stream your music anywhere. So just download the application and go ahead and install it. And it is going to have you create a user name and password. So go ahead and create a user name and password and then sign-in and either scan for music automatically or select a folder where your music is stored. Most commonly, your music will be stored in the My Document/My Music folder. So go ahead and select that and the server should automatically be running so you should be able to go ahead and view your music on JukeFly.com. And as long as your computer is on and that would serve your application is running, the one that you will see down here in the corner then you can access your music from any computer that has an internet connection anywhere in the world.
The next website is called orb.com. And it is kind of the same thing as the previous application we looked at except this has a lot more features. So go ahead and download and install this and go through the installation process and then create an account as well. As you can see here, not only streams to other computer but it can also stream to a mobile phones and mobile internet devices as well. So you can create a login here or if you already have one, just go ahead and sign-in with your username and password and then it is going to also scan for music. And this not only does music but it also does movies and videos as well. And you have a television card installed on your computer you can stream your television stations as well. And again this will go to any internet enabled device. And like the previous application, this runs a little server program so your computer has to be on in order for you to actually stream your music and videos. But once it is installed and once you have it running on your computer, you can just go to the orb.com website and login and then you will be able to access all of your media. So that is a pretty cool little application.
The third website is called anywhere.fm. So if you go there and sign-up for an account there, this application is different from the other two, in that, it does not require server application. What you do instead, is you can actually upload your music to the website and then play it after it has been uploaded so you can store your entire MP3 collection on their website and access it from anywhere without having to downloading the applications. So this is a good websites for computers that are not running Windows, you do not really need Windows to upload your music to it and use the website. And then once your music is uploaded, you can access it from anywhere.
Well, that is it for this tutorial. For more go to tinkernut.com.
