The basics to stick stringing. The basics are things that you need to string your first lacrosse stick. First you need a good pair of scissors and a lighter. The lighter will be used for the tips of the strings so that they don't fray after you are finished cutting the strings.

You need shooting laces or hockey laces. You need a throat protector or throat guard for the bottom of the head. Either long top strings which are thicker than sidewall strings, along on the side of the head, and you need your mesh.

There are different types of mesh. You can have your Dura mesh, which is harder, and a thicker, more stiff mesh, and you have your soft mesh, which is very soft and allows you to have more whip in your stick, but it's also tougher to string. These are the basic needs for stringing your first lacrosse stick.
