How to Swap Pictures in Your Save Data Utility on the PSP
Hey everyone. So first, you’re going to go to My Computer, and then go to the Removable Disk which was in whatever drive you have at your PSP. So then, go the PSP folder, and then go the Save Data folder. And then I’m going to view this in thumbnails, and then I’m going to see a Dexter folder, which is my Dexter save file.
Now, I’m going to import a picture that I want to replace that Dexter picture with. So there’s my picture. And so what I’m going to do is double click on it and it will open up Microsoft Office Picture Manager.
So I’m going to go to the Picture tab, and then I’m going to go to Crop, and I’m going to view the picture dimensions in the bottom right. This is 140x140. The PSP picture dimension is 144x80. So I need to go to Resize, make the first left dimension go up to 144. So I’m going to go to percent change and boost at 3% to make it 144x144.
So now that we have the first number right, we need to make the other 144x80. So we’re going to go back to our crop tool, and then we’re going to crop down the top and bottom until it shows us in the bottom right where is this picture dimensions until it goes down all the way to 80.
So, and then you can position your crop tool wherever you want it on your picture just to get the right place on your picture. So, and then I’m going to push OK and then I’m going to go to File, Save and it will replace the other picture.
So when you view it as a thumbnail, you’ll see that it’s been cropped. So now I’m going to go rename and name it ICON0. Then I’m going to delete the Dexter picture or put it somewhere else so I could save the picture for later so I don’t get rid of it entirely.
So now what I'm going to do is go to FormatOZ.com, and go to the download page and download the latest version of Format Factory. So once in Format Factory, I'm going to go to the picture tab. Once there, I’m installing it. And I’m going to push that all to png. If your picture format is already in the png format then don’t bother with this. But mine is in a jpeg format so I need to do this.
So click on all the png, and then click Add File, and then click on your Removable Disk on My Computer. So then I’m going to go to the PSP folder once again, the Save Data, view as thumbnails and I'm going to find my picture that shows in thumbnails.
Alright, then it will only show the picture and not the other files because it’s only showing the supported picture files. So then I’m going to click on it and push OK and start the conversion. And once it’s there converting, it will output the file to My Documents FFOutput. So once I'm there, I'm going to go to My Computer and then I’m going to go to Removable Disk, once again, PSP. Save Data, and then view as thumbnails so I can find my file.
So once I’m in the picture folder, I’m going to have to replace it with the png format instead of the jpeg format of the picture. So I’m going to open My Documents and I’m going to go the FF Output folder. And there’s my picture. It says ICON0 and I’m going to drag it to my desktop so it’s there instead of in that folder. And then I’m going to go back to that folder and I can delete the original jpeg picture or you could save this somewhere else once again so it doesn’t get totally erased and drag in the new png. And then there you go.
