I understand how to wire the solid state relay using the main speaker, but I'm confuse on how the music is coming through the main speaker without a speaker connected? Maybe I'm missing something, could somebody explain to me how the music is generated without a speaker

Well, that is a way to get them to blink to music, but there is no way that you could get the effect you show at the beginning with the device you describe. Check out www.doityourselfchri stmas.com or www.planetchristmas. com to see how that display was probably done.

How to Synchronize Music to Christmas Lights

[Music Playing] Make music synchronized Christmas lights. Parts list -Speakers -outlet adapter -Xmas lights -Excess Power Cords -Relay -Soldering Iron This project courtesy of: http://rybitski.googlepages.com/ Step1: Unscrew main speaker. Step2: Use the soldering iron to remove the speaker wires. Step3: Solder the wires to the relay. Step4: Add the extra power cord to the speaker casing. Step5: Add the adapter to the speaker casing. Step6: Solder the adapter as shown here. Step7: Solder the remaining power cord wire to the relay. Step8: Remove the speaker from the cover and replace cover. Step9: Plug lights into adapter.
