Dr. Angela Chan: Well, why don't we play a little game now? A test on memory. I will give you say a series of six items and I will just say it once and see how well you remember it and perhaps well our audience can play this game with us too?
Female Speaker: Sure.
Dr. Angela Chan: Okay? Here we go, one, light switch, two, balance, three, triangle, four, chair, five, hand, six, base. Here we go.
Female Speaker: Light switch, house, chair, balance, how many are those?
Dr. Angela Chan: You have four.
Female Speaker: I have four. No, I can't remember anything.
Dr. Angela Chan: Well, actually not bad because you remember the first one.
Female Speaker: Oh, did I?
Dr. Angela Chan: Yes. Well, let me show you how I remember those. Okay, let's recover that again, one, light switch, two, balance, three triangle, four, chair and five hand and six, dice.
Now, let me show you how I remember this. One, light switch, imagine a light switch with a single button there, so that's one and it reminds you of that.
Two, a balance, a scale has two sides. So it's well balanced, two.
Three, of course a triangle has three angles.
Four, a chair, a chair has normally has four legs.
Five, hi five, that's my hand.
Six, dice, a dice has six faces.
So that's how I remember it. Now of course these are special ways of remembering for you in order to develop a good memory, you have to find your own associations. By doing that, you can remember it in your own way which is unique and somebody else might use their own manner.
