Well now I am going to show you how to draw the right cross. Hold the straight right hand.
The straight right hand usually follows the jab so it is called usually marks in the box in terms of 1-2. What you do is start with the jab and a minute before the left hand is coming out and on the way out, the right hand is out. So, you do not want to punch, throw a jab and then, the other punch behind it. What you have to do is one followed immediately the other, that way you minimize the opportunity for the opponent to avoid the second punch.
Now you look something like this, 1, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2.(demonstration) When you throw the 2, you shift the body forward, you put your shoulder behind it, maybe at the full like turning off a cigarette off the floor, you shift whole body forward too, and bring your back at the end as you see at the end of my punch. Again, I am protecting my chin behind my shoulder too. So on 2; 2; 2.(demonstration). So the 1-2, it looks something like this, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 (demonstration).
Here we have Ben again who is going to help me illustrate the proper way to throw the 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2, 1-2 (demonstration). As we can see at the end of each punch, I bring right hands right back to the starting point. At the end of each punch, I turn the hand like you open your doorknob and bring it right back.
