Hi! And welcome to a fishing knot instruction video from videofishingknots.com. In this video, I will show you how to tie a Rapala knot or a Rapala loop and you start out by tieing a simple over hand knot in the line, just like that and now I will put it down here on the table that will make it easier for you to see what's going on. You got your over hand knot there and then you take the tag end and you put it through your lower or your hook, just like that and then you take the tag end and you put it through the over hand knot, just like that.
And pull, so you form a little loop down here and the next step is to take the tag end and wrap it three times around the standing part. So we put it under and over, that was one, once more, that's two, and finally a third time, makes it free and then you take the tag end here and you put it through the over hand knot, just like that. So you take the tag end and put it through the over hand knot.
When you do so, you will form a new loop, here, where I have my index finger and the final step is to take the tag end and put it through that loop, just like that. It goes through the loop and all I need to do now is to pull the tag end and the standing part and that will pull the knot tight, just like that and you will end up with a nice and strong Rapala knot or Rapala loop. As you can see this is a loop knot that forms an end loop in your line.
