How to Tie a Rebeck Knot

In this video, I will show you how to tie a Rebeck knot and you start out by threading the eye of the hook with the line, like that. Now you wrap the line around the shank of the hook four times. So that was one, two, three, and finally four times.

Then, take tag end and put the line, the tag end through the eye of the hook like that, and you will have something that looks like this. The next step is to take all these wraps you hold on to the hook with one hand and with the other, you slide the wraps down to the eye of the hook like this and then, you actually slide them all the way over the eye of the hook. It can be a little bit tricky especially with this big hook. It’s easier with smaller hooks, and you can do like that to get all the wraps over the eye of the hook.

At this point, all we need to do is to pull both the tag end and the standing part like this. That will form the knot, and when you pull both the standing part and the tag end, you will pull the knot tight.
