I use the surgeon's knot to join two pieces of fluorocarbon together to make a dropper to create a 3 or 4 fly cast. One of the isses here is that the dropper lies at a fine angle to the leader then has a tendency to wrap around the leader, ideally you want the dropper to hang at (say) right angles to the leader. Some say that you can then do a half-hitch after the suregeons knot to create this effect - any thoughts?

You start out by a aligning the two lines like this and then you just take the two lines and double stand and you tie a simple overhand knot and you need one line that has both tag ends available. So you can pull the whole line through the knot like that and now you have a simple overhand knot and now you basically just repeat the step. So you take your double stand and you put it through the loop up through the overhand knot ones more like that and that will and so that's you will end up with something like this and now you grab the double stands the two tag ends on the two parts, and you just pull everything tight like that.
