How to Train your Ear for the Guitar

Welcome to guitar lessons.com I’m Nate Savage. In these series of lessons we’re going to be talking about how to develop your ear. Developing your ear is really important for a couple of reasons. The first reason is, it allows you to more freely express yourself on the guitar. So say if I have this note right here, it’s a D and I want it to go from the D to the major third. I know that that’s the note I need to go to because I know what a third sounds like. The other reason is, it’s really important for you to help you figure out how to figure out songs from recordings. So if you’re listening to a song, it’s an A and you hear it go to this chord, automatically you can hear just from experience in training my ear that that’s a two-chord and that’s going to a B minor. So take these lessons, apply them to your everyday playing and at the end of this, we’ll give you a daily routine that are really help you hone in your ear.
