I am here to talk to you about traveling by train in the U.S. Well I will tell you what, I have taken trains up and down both coasts in this country, in the U.S.A, and I really -- there is nothing like it in the world. I love it, I think it's a great way to go, but it does takes some planning and you need to be prepared for price changes that may occur not during the trip, but during the week of the trip.
I think you should book online and you should book as early as you can because as the time of your departure approaches, the tickets become scarcer and scarcer, and they actually will increase the cost of the tickets much like an airline ticket. So doing it early -- and also really looking at the time line, it is fast, it's obviously not like flying, but it's more like a drive but you don't have to do any of the driving, and you know there are different levels of comfort on the train as well.
If you are doing over nights, there are sleep cars, there is business class, there is almost -- in some respects there is a first class, there is usually a great cafeteria type of thing on board, on the train. There are drinks, there are plugs at every seat so you can plug your laptop and maybe watch a movie if you would like.
I think traveling by train in the U.S is a great way to go, as long as you have the time, because to get across the country, if our are going to do something as extreme as that, it does take days to do it. But it is comfortable, and it is cost effective with gas being what it is these days. It's not a bad way to go, I would suggest traveling by train in the U.S.
