Host: Have you ever wanted to kick back, relax and travel just like a celebrity? I know I have but the problem usually is money, we don’t have the same kind of money we do. Well Gaff Sagely is here, his the senior editor of Travel Zoo, the online guide to the worlds best travel deals and Gaff is here to show us how we can all vacation like a celebrity but the key here is Gaff, we’re not going to be paying like one.
Gaff Sagely: And its doable, I mean the celebrities love this gorgeous international spots but there are ways to travel to this locations, times of the year when you want to travel and you can save a lot of money.
Host: Okay, so for the like of Barrach Obama, Oprah Winfrey you can find them in places like Maui.
Gaff Sagely: Yeah, well Maui Hawaii is a favorite with celebrities because it is a tropical get away without having to worry about a passport and in the Caribbean, you need a passport to get there for the most part. But Hawaii offers you that tropical escape when your staying within the US, it’s a quick flight out of the west coast of the Hollywood scene and its home to great secluded beaches, secluded resorts that really cater to this celebrities.
Host: But what’s a nice hotel in particular there the Ritz Carlton.
Gaff Sagely: But you know here in Ritz Carlton which is near the beach of famous part of Maui and you think I cant afford to stay there but even a hotel like this will offer some great rates during the winter season, for example $299.00 and if you stay three nights they’ll offer you a $100.00 credit. You get breakfast daily and the Ritz is on beautiful property that they just underwent a 180 million dollar renovation, so it is you know it’s tucked away but close enough to the beach and you might rub elbows with someone you know.
Host: You never ever know, by accident or in purpose, you will never know. Okay, so if you’re looking for Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Hugh Hafner, you have to go to Vegas. You know a lot of people like this because its so close to Hollywood.
Gaff Sagely: Yes and its all about the 24 hour parties, it’s about an ability that kind of showcase how deep your pockets go and this is a party scene and that’s what the celebrity for the most part like to go. Of course, they also have luxury spot treatments and very high end dining as well. So they can do a little bit of both and Vegas is home of some of the best travel values in the country, it has been for the last year, it still is even as we head into the winter season.
Host: The M Resort, is that the spot that everyone is flocking too?
Gaff Sagely: Its right off the strip, so if an attending to drive to the strip and they’ll take you there for free but you can stay there for $59.00 a night through December and it is a gorgeous brand new, so for $59.00 its definitely worth trying to see
Host: You can also have a spot for all this girls too, so it’s not a bad price, I like that one. You can go to Santa Barbara California, which is just a drive up front.
Gaff Sagely: And a lot of celebrities like to go there to get away but this celebrities actually live there and because it’s about an hour 15 north of Los Angeles. A lot of them live there and they will go down to shoot Brothers and Sister and whatever else his doing down in LA, so its quick but its remote. Great beaches, beautiful real estate that comes with big price tag but it’s a way to be close enough to the LA scene without having to be on top of it.
Host: Now last but not least, celebrities like Jessica Simpson, Kate Beckinsale, Cabo, that’s the spot for them right?
Gaff Sagely: Cabo’s in San Lucas and you know it is again accessible from the west coast; it is a very popular destination for people up and down the west coast. There are these beautiful lavish resorts that for years have never done you know sort of deals for the regular folk but even their bringing their weight down. In a place called the Plia Grande Resort, it’s about a mile outside downtown Cabo on San Lucas. A village like resort, all suites right on the water, $115.00 a night to stay there. That’s for travel particularly in December but an example of all those luxury resorts in Cabo are trying to attract the American traveler by bringing their rates down.
