Bill Parravano: Hello! And welcome to the Knee Pain Guru, Knee Pain Questions Answered. And this week I have a question from Frank. It says, I looked at your YouTube channel and I started your Roman Chair Exercise. I have a few quick questions regarding it. Could I do it with one leg? When I jump it hurts more off of my left than off of two legs. How long should I hold the position and how often should I do it? Everyday, every other day. Thank you very much Frank.
Well Frank, I suppose you can do the exercise with one leg. I wouldn't suggest it at all, because there is a tendency I think of you falling over, if you just do it with one leg, there might be a little bit too much.
How long should you hold the position? I go over this in greater detail in my eBook, 'Stop Your Knee Pain Now!'. You can get that off of my website. However, the position is to be held for seven seconds or longer, that's the key to this. Because you want to get the muscles out of the way to begin to work the tendons or ligaments within the knee joint itself.
So seven seconds or longer is your ideal amount of time that you would want to do the exercise and how often should you do it?
You want to let your body be the judge of it. If you do it everyday and you probably only to do it a couple of minutes a day, it really doesn't take all that long to build up the tendon, the ligament strength. So, if you do it a couple of times a day, that should be plenty.
And everyday or every other day, once again you're going to have to give your body, listen to your body and get a sense of what your body is telling you. If you go to do the exercise five days in a row, and on the sixth day your legs just feel fatigued and tired and you don't want to do it, then I would suggest you to take a break on that.
However, if it still feels good, as you're doing it on a daily basis, then I would continue doing the exercise. And if you're seeing a doctor regarding this with your knee pain, you are going to default to him to make sure he, that we aren't doing anything, or I am not suggesting anything that is going to override what your doctor is suggesting.
So, Frank thank you very much for your question. Hopefully that answers that and if any of you have questions out there that you would like to post to me, go to the contact section on thekneepainguru.com website. Go ahead and send me a question and I will get those on video for you and get those answered. So, thank you very much and I'll be in touch soon. Bye, bye.
