Submissions 101. I am going to demonstrate the triangle choke from side control. If you are going for the triangle from the side, it's one of the moves that people don't expect. So I am here, I am locked in and what I am going to do is, as he is struggling, I am going to take my left leg and I am going to step over his head, lift it up, and triangle, locking my legs again in here. So I have triangle choke and I can also attack his arm, to go for an inverted arm-bar as well. So I have a dual submission going on.
I will just turn. I am here, it's one of those moves where you have to be explosive, you step over so, his arm is up and I push it down, then make step, lift, locking in there. Once you have locked in, I start to position my body south, towards his hips. I don't want to be up here just in case of him rolling. So I go South, grabbing on and I can go for the arm-bar as well as the triangle here.
So change one more time. Here, stepping over, and lift up the head, you will notice that I am feeding my leg behind my knee, there is the triangle, I have the arm bar on the other side, but I just want to get the triangle, I am just going sweep my legs, and there it is. It's one of my favorite submissions, one that we are seeing all the time and one that people don't see coming.
