So all you are going to need is a comb, a pair of scissors, and your hair. It's really about being able to operate a pair of scissors and move them around. Something that fits nicely into your hand, and doesn't feel cumbersome; they are sharp, so you want to be careful.
Long layers or layered hairs are actually easy style to trim. Part your hair down in the middle, we are going to pull her hair forward. By pulling your hair forward, you are creating layers. So what you are going to do is, at an angle, she is going to chip the edges of her hair and that's going to get rid of all the dead or damaged ends, maintaining the shape of her haircut; you don't want to change anything drastic. Again, you are trimming your hair here. So you see that her hair goes on a bit of an angle, we are going to follow the length, the guide of her hair, and we are going to cut just the tips off of her hair.
I am not telling you to take your hair from waist length to a new choppy pixie cut. I am really just suggesting, that in the interim, if you don't have time, or if you really want to save your money at the moment, you can really just trim your hair, lightly and delicately to get yourself into the next hair cut, and that is your hairstyle secret.
