How to Turn Your Bedroom into a Castle

Molly Finkelstein: My name is Molly and I am one of the co-owners of Nochi and it is a really pretty, pretty shop on main street Vineyard Haven on Martha’s Vineyard.

Sofya Nadelstein: I am Sofya Nadelstein and I am Molly’s partner on the store. Molly takes care of antiques and linens and I take of fresh flowers and parties.

Molly Finkelstein: I am just the princess who can tell how to get a castle beam bedroom going for your child. One of the first things I would probably do is think royal, which might mean purple. A really beautiful color of purple to paint the walls and the next thing I would think a castle would need with sparkles. So this might be a great room for chandelier so find the spot where you can put a beautiful sparkly chandelier. Another thing we think of if we think of castles is really luxurious fabrics and this might be a great room to use silk or even velvet for some draperies. Maybe hanging on the side of the walls so they do not try out too much of the light but just to give a real luxurious feel.

So know you have got your color that is royal. You have got your chandelier giving you all kinds of atmosphere and you have your sparkles. The next thing I might do is put in a wonderful gold mirror so that princess can look at herself when she is ready to go out to the ball.
