I have to admit it; I love being connected. With my Smartphone I can access my information no matter where I am. I can go to the web. I can also get all my emails and my text messages. But there is one thing that drives me down in this digital world it is voicemail. With text messages and emails I can scan through information in seconds. But with voicemail, I have to sit there and listen to the entire message and you know for such few minutes long, that’s a long time.
Well TELUS has a feature that you get for phone called Visual Voicemail. It’s pretty cool. It will actually transcribe all your voicemail messages into text format either into text message or an email. You can decide.
I will show you an example. Just punch it up here in my email, so now I simply go to my email inbox. I click on the Visual Voicemail and everything I need is right there. It tells me who it is from, when it was sent and look at that, there is the entire text. It is transcribed the voice and the text. So now I do not have to listen to the whole thing, I can scan it in seconds and if I want down at the bottom, it is actually a way file attachment as well. So if I want to hear I can actually listen to my Smartphone or if I got that email on my laptop or my desktop, I can listen to there as well.
From a convenience factor, it is great if I am not on a loud or noisy place like a restaurant or at the game, even the busy airport. I do not have to worry about trying to hear what people are saying in the voicemail. I can simply read it right on the screen. And this is great if it is a long voicemail. We all get them there like three to five minutes long. It is typically three to five minutes I never get back. But now I can get right on screen and I do not have to worry because I can glance through it in seconds to get the information that I need.
Have a look at here, if I want too I can even click on some of the convenience slings in the voicemail Lindsey just left me. She has a given a phone number for Frank. So now I do not have to worry about trying to remember that along the road. It is right there in the email. I can simply click on it and it dials directly to him.
As far as the time and money standpoint what about long distance? You know if you are traveling and you are checking your voicemail all the time that sometimes add ups as far as charges. Again now, it is a simple email and you save them.
Another aspect of TELUS visual voicemail but I appreciate is the Visual Record. I can keep track of all these voicemails in text format now. They’re all in my email if I need to search them or look them up later, I can do that quite easily. And another great thing is that I do not have to worry about having a pending paper on hand all the time.
I get voicemail from Lindsey, my friend all the time and she just goes on and on with all these details. Well, now it is only a text format. I can just simply have them in my email if I need forward off and need that information to others. I can do that. I do not have to worry about writing all them down.
This is called TELUS Visual Voicemail and studies have shown that if you keep track of all the times you access voicemail over the course of a year. It adds up to about a day of wasted time. That’s money well spent to me.
