How to Type Inside a Path in Illustrator CS3

One feature that you can do inside of Illustrator is to type inside a path. Now to do this, you need to come up with a closed path, so you can either use the pen tool, the pencil tool or you like to use a shape tool. So go over to your toolbox and decide on the shape that you would like to use, I’m going to go ahead and choose a polygon. And I’m going to set my stroke to green here and then I’m going to go ahead and click and go ahead and make my polygon. I have to go ahead and move it over here. You can rotate it a little bit. Okay, now go over to your text tool and you want to choose the area type tool. Go ahead and select that and then click in your shape. And begin typing, now you could notice that it is typing inside of my shape, let me go back and select this and let me change it to center and I could go ahead and center and actually I’m going to ahead and I’m going to justify. I’m going to go ahead and justify all the way here, okay, now I could go back and you could just continue typing. However, big your shape is and then you can also select your shape again and you can go ahead and you can adjust it and it will go ahead and it will adjust the text that you put inside that path for you.
