Is it difficult to understand all that insurance jargon?
Yeah, if you are a young invincible and you have never bought health insurance before, in some cases your parents did not even have to ever buy their own health insurance because they got their health insurance through their employer and they have been with their employer their whole life and so they pretty much just took whatever that came at them and many of your parents really don’t even know what's in their health insurance policy.
So now you are being asked as a young invincible to go out and get health insurance coverage and it's sometimes a daunting task to look at some of the terminology that exists in the health insurance business, you know, what is an HMO and what is a PPO and what is deductible? How does that work? What's coinsurance?
So I encourage you if you are in that situation, you are a young person, you want to do the right thing by getting coverage and you want to set yourself up to protect yourself from those unforeseen risks, the mountain bike accident and so on.
I would encourage you to go out to the web. The web is the good place to do it, the internet and go type in health insurance on one of the search engines. You typically are going to find our website when you do that and we have lots of terminology defined on our website today.
So basically, if you go out to our site and there is a word that you don't understand, it's typically, it's going to hyperlinked to a definition and you can actually go out and see what that word means and certainly, if you are not feeling comfortable doing that research on your own and understanding the terminology on your own, pick up the phone and call. You can call us. We have a team of people that are standing by or sitting by there to help people learn about health insurance and compare plans and so on. So they can help you do that.
If you want to talk to somebody else, pick up the phone and talk to a licensed agent. You want to make sure you talked to a licensed health insurance agent. You can actually even pick up the phone and call a health insurance company and often they will have a customer service team that's available to answer your questions about the different terminologies that are associated with health insurance and health coverage and so on.
So get the help that you need but I want you to know the help is there, it's available. The internet is a great start frankly for you to get to learn about health insurance. Our website is especially good simply because it does define all of those terms. In fact, we have a self-help area, an area that basically defines all of the different terms in one place and a Q&A section.
But there is a lot of information available on the web and not just on our website. There are others that you can get the answers to the questions that you have and so I will encourage you to do that and then to don't let that stand in your way of getting a plan and getting covered.
