How to Unlock the Power of Napping

Dr. Mark Savant: Hi I'm Dr. Mark Savant and welcome to SavantMD. Today's wellness tip is about the power of napping. I recently saw the results of a study that I thought were very interesting. Briefly, it concluded that a midday nap in this case up to 90 minutes improved the subjects test scores on something they had learned earlier in the morning. Those who did not take a nap had scored worse. I know from my own experience when I was teaching in a high school in France and we have two hour lunches, I was able to sleep for about 15 minutes which really helped me make it through the rest of the day. Bottom line, if you are able to close your eyes for even a few minutes at lunch it could help you perform better during second half of your work day.
