How to Update a Device Driver

Mike Calehan: Hi this is Mike Calehan doctor file finder and welcome to your butterscotch.com tutorial on how to update a device driver. A device driver is used by a device on your system like a printer or a scanner lots of different devices DVD player and the driver is the interface between the device and the PC. So when updated will click start here the windows vista; go to control panel you see here is device manager its going to open up and hear shows all the different devices in RPC its most like the DVD player, highlight that right click you see here update the device driver. Now when I asked if I want to search automatically I can say yes, always switched online yes switch online this time only you don't switch online, well its say this time only now its all looking to see if there is a newer device driver for my DVD player, and it comes back and has the determined that the driver that I have is up to date, with the manufacture so that's good, if it has found and obtain a driver it would have been installed automatically and we would just close this out, close this out, close control panel and that's all let us do it.
