Okay guys, what’s up? In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to download and upgrade your iPod Touch, it’s a 2.0 from buying it. So as you can see, I’m only 2.2.1 in my iPod Touch and you can buy it for $9.95. Well it’s not much but you can the firmware from the site. I’m just clicking one bit later if you get this.
Now, if you try to download it with Safari, you wouldn’t get the IPSW. You’ll just going to follow this, it says iPod 1 and then come with 2. I mean this the 1 and the second one. So you can’t download with the Firefox. On my Safari – it’s my main browser but you just download it in Firefox, what’s it called.
And now you’re going to this site on the link would be in the description. And here we go iPod and iPhone firmware downloads. So these are the iPod but we’re doing the iPod Touch here. And you do the same with the iPhone 3G. And so where we go, you got the iPod Touch on this firmwares and I’m a bit wearing the first iPod Touch, it’s the 2nd Generation and that was 2.1.1, 2.2.1, 2.2 and here it goes 3.0. So just click that if you’re in the iPod 2G and if you’re on the first one then download this one, right here.
Just click Download and then she download. And when it’s done downloading, you will get a file like this and don’t use Safari because it will not come to IPSW or not – it won’t download IPSW to be a folder. So you use Firefox, that’s what I use in the work. But once you have this file, open up iTunes and go to your iPod.
Now right here where it says, “Restore, don’t choose update”, right here where it is Restore in option or Alt and click and this will come up. Now, according to where you saved it, here we have the iPod firmware and you’re going to restore. And as you restore to the fresh – 3.0.
Now, it just tells me that my iPod was going to restart and then it would just come back up. Now it’s up here, on my iPod. And I’m going to setup the iPod – songs, No, using applications, Yes. That would be done. And as you can see the software we’re using is 3.0. And there it goes, that’s the way to do. So you want to jailbreak it, use Redsnow so that will be in – I mean a Redsnow. It was in the description if you want to jailbreak it and remind make a tutorial on it but I just learn it to jailbreak mine.
