This video is to give me a demonstration of Craigslist extractor. There are a couple of other videos of Craigslist extractor both on YouTube and the creator’s website. However, none of their tutorials or samples have sounds so I thought I’ve used that as an opportunity to purchase a software and do a quick demonstration showing you a couple of features and what it can do.
In a nutshell it’s spiders or surf Craigslist looking for email addresses and when it gets those email addresses and the others information. It puts those into a Microsoft Access database, so looking at the software which you can see running in the background. It's actually a very simple, user friendly program. First column, select a categories as you know on Craigslist they have various categories, community for sale, gigs, housing.
For this demonstration I've selected three jobs, resumes, and services. Select location as with Craigslist you have most major Metropolitan cities in the United States and around the world stating with Anchorage, Alaska all the way down to Johannesburg, South Africa.
For this demonstration I've selected a single city Reno, Nevada, United States. Next call them down. It lets you deselect at Craigslist.org email addresses. Keep in mind that most major cities could have thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Craigslist ads. You can certainly select the box and get all the @Craiglist.org email addresses, but you keep in mind that Craigslist task is own anti spam filters. And it's up to you if you really want to try to hit all the @ Craigslist.org. I chose not do I think there is just too many I’m not a huge spammer, but I do like to have viable email list just to help with web traffic.
Enter keyword below, optional. I have not used that I assumed if you're trying to targets specific markets where you can use that. This has been running for about six minutes and as you can see from the number of listings found it's getting close to 4800. I haven’t done Reno yet, so I’m not sure how many listings is going to find on these three categories, so I’ll let it run but sometimes during this video I will go see what is in the actual Microsoft Access, database and actually copy and paste just in clipboards, so you can see what and how many email addresses that it yields.
It does give you a see results fill which I’ll select. It doesn’t give me a lot of useful information. It—you can see there’s basically telling you what it found. Some of them have email address some don't. I think if you’re doing maybe a smaller city somewhere around the world. You might want to look at this as you see if it’s finding you good information.
What’s really important is the post that this puts out. Again, that’s in Microsoft Access. When you open the file folder for the Craigslist extractor, you'll see it's referred to as the database. So I’m going to and open that Microsoft Access. It will paste everything over to the listings. Again, it gives you all the information. All I'm really interested in is, this column here which are the email addresses. You can see that many of them don't have one that's okay. We have the automatic filter to get those out, so basically in the time I've done this video, and it's found 5103. I can see at the bottom of my screen that the counter still going. It may go for a while being Reno is a large city.
So I'm going to go ahead and copy this entire column. Again, there's no instruction videos for this on the Craigslist extractor web site. They do show in the silence of their videos exporting this to an Excel spreadsheet and but I've just found some faster ways so I’m going to show you how I've learned to do it. I'm simply going to copy this entire column.
If you go to my website renatoworld.com, renatoworld. I have a post on an email extractor, conversion one point eight or one point 41 point. It's a little faster to used. But if you go to my free online marketing tools, there's a very simple free email extractor. They called it an email extractor I prefer to as an email sorter or organizer. If you simply paste that entire column into the input window you'll see that all your spaces and everything else is there, but with a simple click of the extract button. It's going to put them all over here.
When I call it an organizer what it's also doing is putting it comma and space, so now what you're left with our 582 viable email addresses. All sorted and organized for you. In addition, if there were any duplicates in here it would remove the duplicates. I think you could probably—so the power of the software for compiling a list of viable email addresses, one city one click, five minutes you’ve got me 582 well organized email addresses. I can simply copy and paste these into either at email or in this case, I’m just going to put them in the text document for further use. Again, these are all from a specific location Reno, so it may be advisable for a marketing strategy if you’re going to save these email addresses, save them in a name folder for the city. That way when you send out your email you can personalize it too that actual city like how's it going in Reno? Or anything like that, that way it won't come across so much as spam.
So with that said, the more information can be found out about this that my website renatoworld.com. The website for the software itself has been down for the last couple of days. I haven't been too overly impressed with the company support. I did have a couple questions when I first got it, and most of those fell on unanswered emails. And now their site is down. I can't say that their software runs clean here were back to it, and we're almost to now 6000, so it's going to keep counting Reno again as a big city. I've only got three categories selected so you know picture all the other hundreds of cities around the world there's probably hundreds of thousands of emails to find here.
So, I'm going to put a link to the company's website. If you're interested in getting the Craigslist extractor of their websites down you can email me. If you're in my website or GD I down line I'll help you get a copy.
So if you want to try the cheapest way to get a copy is just sign up with My.com.ws. I’ll put links to all that in my website, so if you are interested in getting this in the company's website is still down. Just hook up with me via my renatoworld.com. I’m sure the company's website will be back up soon and showed last couple of days just a band with was exceeded. Everything else that email extractor and the other software is all open source and it's free which I always liked. But this is really great way to get some real email addresses. I'd definitely recommend using that I have had no hick ups or bugs. It runs really smoothly and every time I'd do it I come up with hundreds of actually thousands of good email addresses.
So again let me put up a link to renatoworld.com, so you can go there and get a copy of everything. Renatoworld.com Thank you.
