How to Use Design, Code and Split Views in Dreamweaver CS3

There are three basic views within Dreamweaver, design view, code view and then split view. How you access this views are appearing on the title bar of your page. You have code, split and design. Now the first view that I’m in right now is design view. You can get to design view by clicking on the design button. And this uses wizy-wig what you see is what you get. So here is a great place for you to move around images to add some text. You can really see what you’re final webpage is going to look at by using the basic design view.

If you go to code view—then here you can see your actual HTML code and this allows you to make specific changes to the HTML code. If you’d like to view both the design and the code at the same time, use split view by clicking on the split button and this is going to give you both the code and the ‘what you see is what you get’ interface. So you can move this bar right here to determine how much code you want to see as opposed to how much design you want to see.

Makes it really easy because as you could see, as you are working on something that’s going to bring the cursor to the same place and whatever other pain, you can highlight as well and its going to go ahead and show you want you’re working on the opposite pain and vice versa, so these are the three major views that you can use in Dreamweaver, code, split and design.
