Female Speaker: Okay, so I have got some equipment that you also might see in the kitchen. I suspect you would already know the names of them. What are these?
Kids(together): Tongs, tongs.
Female Speaker: What do we use tongs for?
Girl: Toss the things out of the pan.
Female Speaker: Exactly, if I had something in that pot, I could just go right up to it and pluck it right out. That saves my hands, it keeps it away from the heat. We can use that to toss salads. What did you say?
Boy: I said you could probably use them to like serve.
Female Speaker: Of course, if you had it on a platter and then use that to pull things out. That's why they are so precise with the two tips coming right together and makes it really easy to pick up small things. Now we will go on to -- what is this? I bet you have seen one of these before.
Boy: A egg-beater.
Female Speaker: A whisk or an egg-beater. You can use that to beat eggs. What else could you use the whisk or have use a whisk for before? For what?
Girl: Frosting.
Female Speaker: Frosting, if you have to mix salad up, that makes it really easy. You said sauces. First I take something, you might want to use this to mix in your flour or your thickener. So this is our egg whisker or just a plane whisk. Now I wanted to show you a couple of different things. These are flippers, regular flippers, you would see for pan cakes, etcetera. The difference here -- you can see this one has holes in it. It's called a perforated flipper. What would you want to get out of those holes?
Boy: Extra, like butter or a --
Female Speaker: -- liquid. Exactly, so if had a fish poaching in some water, I could scoop out the fish and all that water would drain out. So I could put the fish directly on to my plate and I wouldn't have to worry about all that water. That's great. This one, just a regular plain old flipper cookies, you can -- what else can you do with this?
Girl: Make the eggs and stuff.
Female Speaker: Exactly, eggs, pan cakes, all that fun, hamburgers. You have to have the hamburger turner. Now why would I have a plastic one in the kitchen as well.
Boy: Because you are not supposed to use metal on non stick.
Female Speaker: Thank you, that is so wonderful that you would know that. I am very, very specific when I have my non stick pans to make sure that I always pair it with plastic items. You can also use wooden spoons that won't scratch the surface. You can also use plastic spoons or the plastic spatula, scrambled eggs again, makes it very easy. Good job that you knew that.
You can also use plastic spatulas right in here as well, it's not going to hurt anything. So I bought a wooden spoon, we use that a lot for sauces. You can see here I have a couple of different spoons too. I have a big solid spoon, and then I have one with the holes, and I have one with the slots. Now since we just talked about this, I bet you have a good idea of what these are used for.
Boy: This is one is probably used for serving.
Female Speaker: You can use that for serving, good, and because this one has holes in it, what do you think?
Boy: Probably used for serving fruits and --
Female Speaker: Like a fruit salad, cool. Exactly, or you can use that for cooking. When we were talking about earlier, the pasta in the water. You can use this for randomly scooping them out really easily or dumpling something like that. This has the same use, just a little bit larger holes. Then the last thing I want to show you, what is that?
Boy: Ice Cream scooper.
Female Speaker: Ice Cream scooper and these also come in numerous different sizes. This is one of the smaller ones and we will use this, if we are scooping Ice Cream. Somebody said cookies batter. Exactly, and this just makes it, so you have the exact same amount every time. You make sure it is evenly pulled out of your products. Any questions on these items right here? If you saw that I had the spider back here, you remember that one, right? Alright, let's clean these up.
